Can we move our on-premise Oracle Database to OCI with little downtime?
Often, yes. Depending on version and size, tools such as Oracle Zero Downtime Migration, Data Guard or GoldenGate can keep the source and target in sync, so the final cut-over window is short. We test the approach on a copy first.
Is OCI only useful for Oracle software?
No. OCI runs general Linux and Windows workloads, containers on OKE and object storage too. That said, its advantages are clearest for Oracle-heavy estates, so we recommend it when that fits rather than by default.
