Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Defining your cloud and on-premise infrastructure in version-controlled code, so environments can be created, reviewed, changed and rebuilt consistently instead of by hand in consoles.

Overview

Why it matters
for your business.

When infrastructure is built by clicking through web consoles, nobody can be sure production matches staging, or recreate an environment after a mistake. Changes go unrecorded and knowledge sits with one engineer. Infrastructure as Code turns networks, servers, databases, permissions and DNS into readable code that lives in Git, reviewed like application changes.

We start by importing or rebuilding your existing resources with Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi or native tools such as Bicep and CloudFormation. Code is organised into reusable modules with separate state per environment. Plans are reviewed in pull requests and applied through pipelines, with policy checks and drift detection to spot manual changes. Your engineers are trained to maintain it.

What's included

  • Existing resources imported into code
  • Reusable modules for common infrastructure patterns
  • Remote state storage with locking
  • Pull request plans and pipeline-based applies
  • Policy-as-code checks for security rules
  • Drift detection and team training

Outcomes

What changes
for your business.

Ideal for

  • Teams managing infrastructure through consoles
  • Companies running multiple cloud environments
  • Organisations preparing for security audits

Reproducible environments

Development, staging and production are built from the same code, reducing configuration differences that cause surprises.

Reviewed infrastructure changes

Every change is proposed, reviewed and recorded in Git, creating a clear audit trail.

Faster recovery

Environments can be rebuilt from code after a failure or mistake, rather than reconstructed from memory.

How we deliver

A clear, accountable
process.

Every engagement follows the same disciplined approach, adapted to the size and urgency of your project.

  1. 01

    Assess

We review your current systems, costs, risks and constraints, and agree what success looks like.

  2. 02

    Design

You get a target architecture and a phased roadmap with clear effort, risks and dependencies.

  3. 03

    Implement

We build, configure or migrate with change control, testing and minimal disruption.

  4. 04

    Operate & optimise

Monitoring, documentation and regular reviews keep performance, security and costs on track.

FAQ

Common
questions.

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.

Can you bring existing infrastructure under code without rebuilding it?

Usually, yes. Terraform and similar tools can import existing resources into state, after which we write matching code. We verify that a plan shows no unintended changes before handing over, so production keeps running untouched while becoming code-managed.

Does IaC apply to on-premise infrastructure as well?

Yes. Terraform providers exist for VMware vSphere, Proxmox, network devices and DNS services, and Ansible handles server configuration. Hybrid estates can therefore be managed through a consistent, code-based approach rather than separate manual processes.
