Can you upgrade our old React Native app instead of rebuilding it?
Often, yes. We first audit the current version, native modules and third-party libraries to see what blocks an upgrade. Many apps can be moved forward incrementally. If the codebase is very outdated or heavily patched, we will show you the trade-off between upgrading and a planned rewrite before you commit.
Are over-the-air updates allowed by Apple and Google?
Both stores permit updates to JavaScript code and assets, provided they do not change the app’s core purpose or bypass review for significant new features. We use over-the-air updates for bug fixes and small adjustments, and still submit native changes and major features through the normal store review.
