Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

Designing and implementing roles, permissions and access policies in your application, so each user sees and does only what their job requires, supporting security and compliance reviews.

Overview

Why it matters
for your business.

Simple admin and user roles stop working once customers bring larger teams, multiple departments or external collaborators. Hard-coded permission checks spread across the code become difficult to audit and easy to get wrong. A proper access control model gives customers the flexibility they ask for while keeping your application secure. We design and implement that model end to end.

We map the actions in your product to permissions, group them into sensible default roles, and decide whether customers need custom roles, team scoping or attribute-based rules. Enforcement is centralised in a policy layer rather than scattered across screens. Admin interfaces let customers manage roles themselves, and every change is logged for audit purposes.

What is the difference between RBAC and attribute-based access control?

RBAC grants permissions through roles such as manager or viewer. Attribute-based control adds conditions, for example region, department or record ownership. Most products start with RBAC and add attribute rules where needed. We design the model so you can extend it without rewriting enforcement logic.

Can you add RBAC to an existing application without disrupting users?

Yes. We first map existing permissions to equivalent roles, so current users keep the same access. The new policy layer is introduced gradually, often running in a logging-only mode first to confirm decisions match, before enforcement is switched on fully.
