Database Design & Development
Well-structured relational or NoSQL databases designed around your application’s real access patterns, so your software stays fast, consistent and easy to extend.
Overview
Why it matters
for your business.
A poorly designed schema shows up later as slow screens, inconsistent data and risky changes. Whether you are building a new product or rebuilding an old one, we model your entities and relationships with your developers, choose between relational and document storage based on how the data is actually read and written, and plan for growth.
We then build the database itself: tables, constraints, indexes, views, stored procedures where they make sense, and migration scripts that version every change. Sensitive columns are identified early so encryption and access rules are designed in, not bolted on. Your team receives documentation they can work from long after handover.
What's included
- Logical and physical data model diagrams
- Schema scripts with constraints and indexes
- Versioned migration scripts for future changes
- Seed and test data sets
- Query performance review of critical paths
- Database documentation and naming conventions
Outcomes
What changes
for your business.
Ideal for
- Startups building a new SaaS product
- Teams rewriting a legacy application
- ERP or CRM customisation projects
Consistent data
Constraints and relationships enforced in the database prevent invalid records that application code might miss.
Room to grow
Indexing and partitioning decisions made upfront help queries stay responsive as record volumes increase.
Safer releases
Versioned migrations let your developers change the schema predictably across development, staging and production.
How we deliver
A clear, accountable
process.
Every engagement follows the same disciplined approach, adapted to the size and urgency of your project.
- 01
Assess
We understand your data sources, applications or risks and agree priorities and scope.
- 02
Plan
A clear approach covering tools, coverage, controls and responsibilities is agreed with you.
- 03
Implement
We build the pipelines, dashboards, test suites or security controls and verify they work.

FAQ
Common
questions.
Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.
Should we use SQL or NoSQL for our application?
It depends on your data and queries. Transactional systems with clear relationships, such as orders and invoices, usually suit PostgreSQL or MySQL. Highly variable documents or very high write volumes may suit MongoDB. We recommend based on your access patterns, not fashion.
Can you work alongside our existing development team?
Yes. We typically pair with your backend developers, review their ORM models and agree conventions together. Schema changes go through your normal pull request process so your team owns the design after we leave.
