Regression Testing
Systematic re-testing of existing functionality after every change, so new features, bug fixes and upgrades do not quietly break things that already worked.
Overview
Why it matters
for your business.
The most frustrating defects are ones that worked last month. A small fix to discounts breaks invoicing; a library upgrade changes date formats. Regression testing guards against this by re-checking established functionality whenever the code changes. We build and maintain a regression suite covering the features your business and customers depend on most.
Running the full suite every time is not always practical, so we prioritise. Risk-based selection focuses each cycle on areas touched by the change plus critical paths. Stable regression cases are progressively automated so they run on each build, while the suite is pruned of obsolete tests as your product evolves.
What's included
- Risk-ranked regression test suite
- Change impact analysis for each release
- Automated regression packs for stable features
- Regression execution reports per build
- Suite maintenance and obsolete test pruning
- Defect trend analysis across releases
Outcomes
What changes
for your business.
Ideal for
- Mature products with frequent releases
- Teams upgrading frameworks or platforms
- Businesses burned by recurring production defects
Fewer reintroduced bugs
Previously working features are re-verified each release, reducing embarrassing defects in core flows.
Confident upgrades
Framework, library and platform updates can be rolled out with evidence that key behaviour is unchanged.
Efficient test cycles
Risk-based selection keeps regression effort proportionate to the size and impact of each change.

FAQ
Common
questions.
Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.
How is regression testing different from smoke testing?
Smoke testing is a quick, shallow check that a build is stable enough to test further. Regression testing is deeper and broader, re-verifying existing features in detail to confirm recent changes have not broken them. Smoke tests usually run first, regression afterwards.
Should our whole regression suite be automated?
Most stable, high-value regression cases are good automation candidates, because they run repeatedly. Some checks involving visual judgement or rarely used features may remain manual. We recommend a split based on frequency, stability and business risk.
