Data Quality Monitoring
Continuous, automated checks on freshness, completeness, validity and consistency of your data, alerting the right owners when something breaks before reports or models are affected.
Overview
Why it matters
for your business.
Data quality is not a one-off clean-up. Upstream systems change, integrations fail and new staff enter data differently, so problems return. Monitoring catches these issues early. We define the quality rules that matter for each critical dataset, such as no null GSTINs, daily sales arriving by 7am, or totals matching the ledger.
These rules run automatically inside your pipelines or warehouse. Breaches create alerts routed to named data owners, with enough context to investigate. A quality scorecard tracks trends over time, so you can see whether issues are shrinking or growing, and prioritise root-cause fixes at source rather than repeatedly patching downstream.
What's included
- Critical dataset inventory with named owners
- Data quality rules for freshness, completeness and validity
- Automated checks within pipelines or warehouse
- Alert routing to responsible data owners
- Data quality scorecard and trend dashboard
- Incident triage and root-cause process
Outcomes
What changes
for your business.
Ideal for
- Organisations with established data pipelines
- Regulated firms needing reliable reporting data
- Teams feeding data into ML models
Problems caught early
Alerts flag missing, late or invalid data before it flows into dashboards, invoices or models.
Clear ownership
Each critical dataset has an accountable owner who receives and resolves its quality issues.
Measurable improvement
Trend tracking shows whether data quality is improving and where root-cause fixes are needed.

FAQ
Common
questions.
Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.
How is this different from data cleaning?
Data cleaning fixes existing problems in a dataset, often as a project. Data quality monitoring is ongoing: it continuously checks new data against rules and alerts when standards slip, so problems are caught and traced to their source quickly.
Do we need a commercial data observability tool?
Not necessarily. Open-source frameworks like Great Expectations, Soda Core and dbt tests cover many needs. Commercial platforms add automated anomaly detection and lineage, which may justify their cost for larger estates. We recommend based on scale and budget.
