Backup Security & Recovery Planning
Protected, tested backups and a documented recovery plan, so your business can restore critical systems and data after ransomware, hardware failure, human error or cloud mishaps.
Overview
Why it matters
for your business.
Ransomware groups now target backups first, knowing that recoverable victims do not pay. Backups stored on the same network with the same admin credentials can be encrypted alongside production. We review what you back up, where copies live, who can delete them and, most importantly, whether you have ever restored successfully.
We design backups around agreed recovery objectives for each system, apply the 3-2-1 principle with at least one immutable or offline copy, encrypt backup data and separate backup administration credentials. A recovery plan sets out priorities, steps and responsibilities, and scheduled restore drills prove it works and reveal gaps while there is still time to fix them.
What's included
- Backup coverage and gap assessment
- Recovery time and point objectives per system
- Immutable or offline backup configuration
- Backup encryption and access separation
- Documented disaster recovery plan
- Restore drill and results report
Outcomes
What changes
for your business.
Ideal for
- MSMEs relying on a single server or NAS
- Hospitals, schools and other institutions
- Businesses using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Ransomware-resistant copies
Immutable or offline backups give you a recovery option even if production systems are encrypted.
Proven restores
Regular drills confirm data can actually be restored within timeframes the business can tolerate.
Clear recovery roles
A documented plan tells your team what to restore first and who does what during an incident.

FAQ
Common
questions.
Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.
Doesn’t Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace already back up our data?
Those platforms provide resilience and limited retention, but they are not designed as full backups against accidental deletion, malicious admins or ransomware synced from devices. A separate backup with independent retention is generally advisable for business-critical mailboxes and files.
How often should we test restores?
We typically recommend restoring sample files regularly and running a fuller recovery drill for critical systems at least once or twice a year, plus after major infrastructure changes. Each drill is documented with timings and lessons learned.
