SaaS Product Development & Engineering

Tenant Isolation & Data Security Engineering

Hardening how your SaaS separates and protects each customer’s data through encryption, isolation controls and secure engineering practices, reducing cross-tenant exposure and supporting regulatory obligations.

Overview

Why it matters
for your business.

In a shared SaaS platform, one missed tenant filter can expose a customer’s data to another, which is a serious breach of trust and potentially a reportable incident under the DPDP Act 2023 or CERT-In directions. We review and strengthen the controls that keep tenant data separate and protected, from database design to backups and logs.

Our work combines threat modelling, code review and engineering changes. We add defence in depth such as PostgreSQL row-level security, tenant-scoped encryption keys, secrets management and isolated storage paths. Automated tests attempt cross-tenant access to prove controls work. We also look at the less obvious places data leaks, including caches, search indexes, exports, analytics and support tools.

What's included

  • Row-level security and tenant-scoped query enforcement
  • Encryption at rest and in transit with key management

Outcomes

What changes
for your business.

Ideal for

  • SaaS handling personal or financial data
  • Products preparing for SOC 2 audits
  • Platforms serving regulated Indian sectors

Lower breach exposure

Multiple layers of isolation mean a single coding mistake is far less likely to expose another customer’s data.

Audit-ready evidence

Documented controls and test results help you respond to customer due diligence and regulatory enquiries.

Enterprise buyer confidence

Strong data protection practices remove a common blocker when selling to banks, hospitals and large corporates.

FAQ

Common
questions.

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.

Does this make our product DPDP Act compliant?

Engineering controls are an important part of compliance, but not the whole picture. The DPDP Act 2023 also involves consent, notices, data principal rights and governance processes. We implement and document the technical safeguards and can work alongside your legal or compliance advisers on the rest.

Will stronger isolation slow our application down?

Controls such as row-level security and encryption add some overhead, but with proper indexing and caching it is usually small. We measure performance before and after changes and tune queries so security improvements do not noticeably affect your users.
