How does this differ from vCenter configuration and management?
This service focuses on hosts, clusters and virtual machine operations, the day-to-day running of vSphere. vCenter configuration and management concentrates on the vCenter Server itself, including deployment, upgrades, permissions, certificates and integrations. Many clients combine both.
Can you support standalone ESXi hosts without vCenter?
Yes. Many smaller sites run one or two standalone ESXi hosts. We patch and monitor them, manage virtual machines and backups, and advise when adding vCenter would make management, high availability or patching meaningfully easier.
